Performance Studies?
The
course aims provide an introduction to, and a grounding
in electronics. It is designed around a systems approach to electronics which
introduces a wide range of transducers, and input / output and processing
systems. It encourages a practical, problem-solving approach. Project work
allows the development of skills and the application of knowledge in the
solution of a practical problem.
The
specification aims to give an introduction to the electronics incolved in modern communication and control systems.
Through
the study of practitioners and genres, you are introduced to the cultural,
social and historical contexts in which the Performing arts operate and you
evaluate your own performance work in this wider context.

How is the
course assessed?
The AS year is worth 50% of the A2 grade. Assessment is
70% examination and 30% coursework
The
A2 year is assessed in the same manner.
The
coursework projects must be geared around the design of a system that will
perform a useful function which must have an application relevant to a
technologically-based society.
